NFL Market Share Production

Metric Analysis: Kony Ealy is one of those edge rushers who looks the parts physically from length and size. But lacks certain athletic qualities and especially production thresholds. His athleticism and size can turn him into a potential long-term starting defensive end. But he is likely to never put up high quality NFL production consistently in his career due to his lack of quality production and speed. This on the surface looks more like a move by the Patriots to acquire a defensive end with a great 3-Cone time.

Which fits their draft profile and free agency acquisitions. And Ealy is someone who can become a mismatch type with certain offensive tackles who lack explosiveness and flexibility. Because Ealy can take these athletic qualities that are similar to Roosevelt Colvin and become a major asset. It’ just Colvin was always from college to the NFL capable of producing more consistently than Ealy thus far.
