Metric Analysis: Tyrann Mathieu is an odd case to crack due to his size and position in the NFL. Similar to Jabrill Peppers. However, what is clear is that he had a fairly decent free safety athletic skill set. With elite solo tackle production and very good pass deflection production. He’s turned into one heck of a NFL safety, but since so many people want to compare to him.

I felt it necessary to show the blueprint for what makes a Tyrann Mathieu. Some speed, some flexibility, a lot of tackling and pass deflection production. All rolled up in a 5-9, 186 pound package who could only bench 4 reps at the Combine. But he could prove to be another standard for what a free safety looks and plays like in the NFL.
