NFL Market Share Production

Metric Recommendation: Trumaine Johnson is a case of a player who has all the physical or superficial measurables at cornerback. But lacks the athleticism to be a consistently elite cornerback. His best fits are zone schemes where he can use his explosiveness to get to plays in front of him quickly. And where he can utilize his length in press. However, I would be concerned in giving top cornerback money to a player who doesn’t have the athletic ability to match a contract.

There are more variables to being a great cornerback than length and height. Thus, I would recommend a salary of 5,768,750 to 7,455,000 at the highest end. There are qualities here that can fit in certain schemes to make Johnson a very impactful cornerback. However, he doesn’t have all the traits that go into being a consistently dominant to productive cornerback in the NFL. If there are other options, I would look into them.
