My Metric All-American List was not as big of a hit as I thought it could be, but no matter. I decided to apply the same method to NFL production.
I have done this type of work in the past examining rookie pass rushers, linebackers and defensive tackles. But I have never made an All-Pro list out of it.
However, now is the time to do this list using offensive and defensive market share data from the 2016 NFL season. And using QB stats from TD/INT ratio to completion percentage etc. comparing all the way back to 1946.
I won’t include offensive linemen, because there are no stats out there yet to truly estimate impact there. However, it is an area I will look into in the future.
So without further ado, here are the Metric All-Pro players for the 2016 NFL season.
Matt Ryan, Atlanta Falcons
Tom Brady, New England Patriots
David Johnson, Arizona Cardinals
Ezekiel Elliot, Dallas Cowboys
Julio Jones, Atlanta Falcons
Odell Beckham Jr, New York Giants
